Changelog

Everything that's shipped, newest first. Toy Syndicate moves fast — this is the running record.

v0.10

Design system refreshLatestJuly 12, 2026
New
  • See your own activity in the feed: your collections, wishlist adds, display photos, contributions, follows, and posts now appear in your feed alongside the collectors, artists, makers & platforms you follow.
  • Rich-text bio: format your profile bio with bold and italic using the new toolbar on Edit Profile.
  • Numbered pagination on the Database — jump straight to any page instead of loading more.
  • Live Wishlist, Collection & Display counts right in the sidebar.
Improvements
  • A new design system, app-wide: a black-and-white “gallery wall” with a single Signal Orange accent, three typefaces (Space Grotesk, Inter, Space Mono), square avatars, sharp corners, and a faint background grid.
  • Custom in-house icon set — the whole app moved off a third-party icon font to a hand-drawn monoline set: faster, works offline, and fully on-brand.
  • Profile redesigned: a dark “dossier” banner with the overlapping avatar, mono metadata, larger follow counts, and a refreshed Insights tab with a bold black archetype card.
  • Item page redesigned: a bordered details board, mono spec labels, chip-style tags, and an orange Chase tag.
  • Notifications are now fully clickable and take you to the right place — a follower’s profile, the post in your feed, a message thread, or the relevant catalog page.
  • Database cards, filters, and sort restyled to the new system; sidebar refreshed with the wordmark logo, a cleaner nav, and an ink “Submit an item” button.
Fixes
  • Search now leads collector results with the @handle, so people are easier to spot among items.
  • Renamed the release-date sort options to “Release Date (Newest)” and “Release Date (Oldest)”.
  • Removed a stray black outline that appeared around the topbar and owner avatars.
  • Fixed the “My Profile” sidebar item flickering when opening your own profile.
  • Fixed the Database occasionally showing “No matches” from a stale cached view.

v0.9

Feed polish & reliabilityJuly 6, 2026
New
  • Post as Toy Syndicate: admins can publish official announcements from the Toy Syndicate profile — shown to everyone in a distinct featured style with the Toy Syndicate mark.
  • Hover-preview cards on The Feed: hover any collector, artist, maker, platform, or item in a post or activity to see a quick preview before clicking through.
Improvements
  • A new item release now shows as a single activity — “New item release from [artists] and [maker] on the [platform] platform” — instead of three separate posts.
  • Official Toy Syndicate posts use a bold black featured card.
  • All feed avatars are now circular, and the Toy Syndicate avatar uses the TS monogram.
  • Posts support multiple photos — add up to six, with an add-more tile and preserved order.
Fixes
  • Fixed being signed out when opening the app in a new tab or after time away — sessions now persist reliably across tabs.
  • Removing a photo from a post (or deleting a post) now cleans up its uploaded images instead of leaving them behind.

v0.8

Community tools & richer taxonomyJuly 6, 2026
New
  • Search inside any artist, maker, or platform page — covers all of that page's pieces, not just the ones loaded.
  • Request an update on items, artists, makers, and platforms: anyone signed in can propose corrections; admins review each change side-by-side with the current data, and approving applies it.
  • Mute updates on a followed artist, maker, or platform — keep following without their releases in your feed.
  • Export your Collection or Wishlist as a CSV — every field plus picture links, ready for spreadsheets.
  • Item sub-types: Blind Box, Gacha Capsule, Chase / Secret, DIY / Blank, and Glow-in-the-dark — shown on item pages and filterable in the Database.
  • Item materials: Vinyl, Sofubi, Resin, Plush, Metal / Die-cast, Wood, Ceramic, Glass, and Plastic — also filterable in the Database.
  • Six new item categories: Pin, Book, Apparel, Sneaker, Merch, and Card.

v0.7

AI catalog sweepsJuly 5, 2026
New
  • Admin sweep console: fill missing descriptions, countries, and links for platforms, makers, and artists in reviewable 300-record batches — records with nothing found are remembered and never re-searched.
Improvements
  • Write/Fill with AI now understands what it's describing — artists get artist bios, makers get brand descriptions, platforms get line descriptions (previously everything was treated as a single toy).
  • Platform descriptions now cover brands, studios, franchises, and licensed properties, not just toy lines.
Fixes
  • Stripped stray citation markup from AI-written descriptions.
  • The sweep stops with a clear message when AI credits run out instead of spinning through errors.

v0.6

Item editor, submissions & mentionsJuly 4, 2026
New
  • Submit an item — every collector can add missing pieces; submissions go to admins for approval and appear in the catalog once approved.
  • Single-step Add Item for admins: the full editor (images, artists, production details) opens immediately; cancelling cleans up after itself.
  • Fill with AI on the item editor: fills every empty field from the details you've entered, web search, and the item's own photo.
  • @-mentions on The Feed for users, platforms, artists, and makers — with hover preview cards.
  • "About the Item" on item pages, with collapsible About sections for the item, platform, artist(s), and maker.
Improvements
  • Item editor: Maker field, platform-filtered Series search with inline create, dimensions in inches, prices in dollars with a fixed USD label, single-value fields lock once filled.
  • Cleaner tag fields — plain search input with chips below.
  • Landing page: new "collector community" section showcasing the social features.
Fixes
  • Series choices persist when reopening the editor; variant-less items can be added and edited.
  • AI descriptions are specific to the item (not its platform) and free of conversational filler.

v0.5

The FeedJuly 3, 2026
New
  • The Feed — a live timeline of everyone and everything you follow: posts, pickups, wishlists, display photos, catalog releases, and follows.
  • Post composer with photos, feelings, check-ins, and polls; reactions and threaded comments with engager avatars.
  • Emoji picker and :shortcode: autocomplete for posts and comments.
  • Filter tabs, grouped activity bursts, infinite scroll, and a post menu (delete / report).

v0.4

Contributions, AI & InsightsJuly 3, 2026
New
  • Every catalog edit is logged as a contribution with review states — visible in the admin console and on profiles.
  • Write with AI for entity descriptions (web-search informed).
  • Profile Insights tab: collector archetypes, collection DNA, taste stats, and your overlap with any collector ("taste twins").
  • Private user↔team messaging with categories; Propose-a-feature, Report-a-Bug, and Give-feedback shortcuts in the sidebar.
  • Admins can add and edit Artists, Makers, and Platforms directly.
Improvements
  • Design-system pass across the admin console and every edit modal; structured locations (country/city/state) everywhere.

v0.3

Profiles, pretty URLs & SEOJuly 2, 2026
New
  • Public collector profiles at /user/<handle>; unified layout with your own profile; clickable users everywhere.
  • Pretty URLs for platforms, makers, items, and artists; profile-style headers on every entity page.
  • Self-service email & password change.
  • Search v3.1: alias matching, typo tolerance, and items surfacing for platform/maker queries.
  • SEO foundation: robots.txt, a 323k-URL sitemap, and server-injected page metadata for crawlers.
Improvements
  • Upload framing for avatars and covers; consistent circular avatars; bio clamping with "+ more".

v0.2

Admin console, Displays & communityJune 30 – July 1, 2026
New
  • Admin console with inline record editing on entity pages; four-role system (Super Admin, Curator, Artist, User).
  • My Display for real: photo management, zoom, and item pin-tagging — tap a pin to jump to the piece.
  • Notifications drawer and full page; Creator badges; info pages (About, Privacy, Terms, Contact).
  • New landing page: 3D card tornado hero, live catalog stats, and wired CTAs.
Improvements
  • HEIC/iPhone uploads convert to WebP automatically; filter dropdowns and sort share one row; punctuation-tolerant search.

v0.1

FoundationJune 9 – 26, 2026
New
  • The Toy Syndicate platform: the Database of designer-toy releases with artists, makers, platforms, and series.
  • My Collection and My Wishlist with Want/Have actions on every card; collection value, filters, sort, and search.
  • Cross-entity search (items, platforms, makers, artists) and the initial 300k-piece catalog import.
